İzmir Kemeraltı

1 / 9

A series of historic building restorations undertaken in İzmir's Kemeraltı district — a living heritage urban fabric stretching back to the 17th century.

Kemeraltı is one of Turkey's most significant historic bazaar districts, a continuous living heritage fabric stretching back to the 17th century in the heart of İzmir. The district hosts hans, caravanserais, mosques, churches, synagogues, and traditional commercial buildings that form a rare urban ensemble of cultural and architectural significance.

RePie Gayrimenkul has undertaken a series of targeted restorations within the Kemeraltı urban fabric, preserving the authentic character of individual buildings while enabling their return to productive contemporary use. The approach follows adaptive reuse principles — retaining original materials, spatial sequences and historic identity, while introducing discreet modern interventions that allow each asset to function as a hospitality, commercial, or cultural destination.

The Kemeraltı project represents RePie's conviction that urban heritage assets, when sensitively restored, can generate exceptional long-term value — cultural, economic, and urban — for their owners, occupants, and the surrounding district.
